This will be a little tutorial on how I make bread. Its cheap and easy, and
+helps you prepare if you can't buy bread on your own (think prepper scenario).
+
+
Yield: ~2 9x5 pans of bread
+
+
You will need:
+
+
2 Cups of warm water (~110F/43C)
+
1/2 Cup of white sugar
+
1 1/2 Tbsp of yeast (or one packet)
+
1 1/2 Tsp of salt
+
1/4 Cup of vegetable oil
+
5-6 Cups of flour (change based on water)
+
+
Process:
+
+
Mix water and 1Tbsp of sugar. Let sugar disolve. Add yeast. Leave till
+ foamy, ~5 mins
+
Mix remainging sugar, salt, and oil into the bowl. While mixing, adding
+ 1 cup of flour at a time. Do not add more flour till dough absorbs
+ most/all flour in bowl.
+
On flour covered counter, knead for 7 mins. Knead longer for a denser
+ loaf of bread. Place in lightly oiled bowl, turn to coat. Cover with
+ cloth or saran wrap. Let rise for ~1 hour.
+
Remove from bowl and knead for 1 min. Divide dough and place in greased
+ loaf pans. For buns, divide into balls and place on greased baking
+ sheet. Let rise for 30 mins.
+
Cut slots along top of loaf with sharp knife gently. Bake at 350F/175C
+ for 35 mins. Check with toothpick if baked all the way through.
+ Toothpick should come up clean.
