Radio Etiquette is the standard practices and band plans used on the Ham Radio
bands.
== Standard Modes/Terms ==
* Beacons
- Automated transmissions
* Weak Signal
- Includes CW, SSB, and some digital modes. All bands 50Mhz+ have weak bands
available. (See [[Modulation]]).
* Satellite uplinks/downlinks
- Bands for comunications with Satillites, specifically

* Simplex

- Tx/Rx on some frequency. For use when not wanting to use a repeater.
* Repeater input/output
- For input/output to a repeater
* Control links
- Frequencies for control operators to control repeaters, and for repeaters
to talk to each other.
These are all based on a type of gentlemen's rules, and not set in stone or by
law.

== Repeater Etiquette ==

* Beginning of your transmission state your callsign
- EX "W1AW standing by for call"
* If accidently interrupt someone, say "sorry, {YOUR CALLSIGN} clear"
* Give signal reports, common terms include
- Full quieting - strong signal, no noise
- White noise - some noise present
- Scratchy - weaker, noise is as strong as voice
- Mobile flutter/picket fencing - rapid fading

* Sometimes listening on a repeaters input frequency is good, as you can meet
others and talk on a simplex
